Rowan Goes Pink
As we mentioned before — The Very Pink Run in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland kicked off last week, and here at Rowan, we ditched our desks, dusted off our runners, and went full flamingo to show our support… virtually, of course.
Running from September 6th to 14th, this year’s event offers both 5km and 10km distances, with live events in three locations — and virtual options for anyone who prefers their cardio with a side of home comforts. Whether you’re a runner, a stroller, or just someone who loves to wear pink, there was room for everyone, it’s a chance to get involved no matter where you are, or how strong your relationship with exercise currently is.
Why We Showed Up (In Pink and On the Move)
This event has already raised over €7.3 million to support research into breast cancer, and we’re proud to add our slightly sweaty support to that total. With around 3,600 new cases diagnosed in Ireland each year, every step taken — no matter how awkward or blister-filled — really does help.
We Did It for the Boobs (and the Banter)
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Ireland — but thanks to research and early detection, survival rates are now at 88% (science: 1, cancer: 0). But awareness is still key — which is why Breast Cancer Ireland’s education team has reached over 145,000 people to teach the importance of breast health, self-checks, and catching issues early.
At Rowan, we showed up for the cause — some of us sprinted, others strolled, but all of us supported. So, here’s to wearing pink, raising awareness, getting out of the office for an hour.
